FromSoftware integrated a discreet quality-of-life feature that many keyboard users overlook: the first-slot priority return. If you prefer keeping your Flask of Crimson Tears on the traditional item belt, place it strictly in Slot 1 within your equipment menu management screen.
Regardless of whether you currently have greases, spirit ashes, or boluses highlighted on Slot 6, pressing and holding the item cycle key for 0.5 seconds will immediately force the equipment bar back to Slot 1. On keyboard setups where cycling is bound to the down arrow or a remapped key, a persistent hold clears the queue. This prevents scrolling past critical charges. It takes muscle memory to replace frantic tapping with a measured hold, but the mechanic eliminates rotation errors completely.
