Desktop printing requires active maintenance that cloud services handle behind the scenes. Office inkjets rely on physical feed rollers that collect paper dust over time. This dust causes paper creep, nudging sheets slightly diagonal as they move across the printhead. Before printing double-sided collateral, run a home printer alignment routine through your machine's utility software to synchronize printhead passes.
Standard letter paper weighs roughly 20 pounds. It buckles under heavy ink coverage. If you are printing flyers featuring saturated photographs, upgrade to at least 28-pound or 32-pound smooth presentation stock. When loading heavier cardstock for business cards, switch your printer driver's media settings from "Plain Paper" to "Heavy Matte" or "Cardstock." This forces the feeder to slow down, allowing the thermal fuser or inkjet nozzles adequate time to bind the medium without smudging.
