Duplicating the template does not happen inside an anvil or a smithing table. It occurs strictly inside a standard 3x3 Crafting Table. Every smithing template in Minecraft pairs with seven diamonds and a "target block" that reflects the structure where the item originated. For the Silence trim, that structural block is Cobbled Deepslate.
Arrange your nine inventory slots in the crafting grid precisely as follows:
- Top Row: Diamond | Silence Armor Trim | Diamond
- Middle Row: Diamond | Cobbled Deepslate | Diamond
- Bottom Row: Diamond | Diamond | Diamond
When positioned correctly, the output slot immediately yields two identical Silence Armor Trims. You retain the original template, gain a pristine duplicate, and forfeit the seven diamonds alongside the single Cobbled Deepslate block. The process can be repeated infinitely, provided your diamond reserves hold out.
