Visual redesigns only go halfway in animation; character personality solidifies in the recording booth. When casting Wanda, the creative team needed an actor capable of delivering blistering sarcasm without sounding unlikable. Susanne Blakeslee stepped into the role during the Oh Yeah! Cartoons showcase and provided the vocal foundation Wanda needed.
Blakeslee balanced stern parental exhaustion with deep affection. While Daran Norris played Cosmo with vocal elasticity and manic pitch shifts, Blakeslee anchored the scenes with crisp articulation and deadpan comedic timing. Her delivery grounded Wanda's constant eye-rolls, making her frantic attempts to consult "Da Rules" feel comical rather than pedantic. Whenever Timmy wished for giant robots or endless desserts, Wanda's weary sigh communicated everything viewers needed to know before the inevitable magical disaster unfolded.
