Q1: Why does my skater crash or jump off the board when I try to do a coffin?
A1: This happens when you press the face buttons before holding the triggers. If A or Cross registers first, your character will push or jump. Always hold LT + RT (or L2 + R2) a split second before pressing and holding the face buttons.
Q2: Can you steer or brake while lying down on the board in Skate 4?
A2: You can steer with wide, shallow arcs by leaning the left analog stick left or right, but turning response is severely limited. There is no built-in slide brake while lying down. To scrub speed, you must release the inputs, stand upright, and perform a power slide.
Q3: Does the coffin work on flat ground, or do you have to be on a hill?
A3: The input works anywhere, including flat ground and mid-air. However, without a downward slope or heavy initial push momentum, flat-ground coffins will quickly roll to a dead stop due to surface friction.
Q4: Do I need to unlock the coffin trick through progression in the playtest?
A4: No. The trick is a native physics input available immediately. As long as your controller layout preserves the classic dual-trigger grab configuration, the move is accessible right from your first session.
