A bowl lives or dies by its crown. Jamba tops its standard bowl with sliced fresh banana, fresh blueberries, coconut flakes, and a dense honey-oat granola. Across our test runs, the banana slices were uniformly fresh, cut on-site, and appropriately ripe. The blueberries showed decent firmness, though winter testing occasionally revealed fruit that had softened during cold storage transport.
Where Jamba lags behind third-wave juice purveyors is textural variety and ingredient sourcing. Artisanal shops now prioritize gluten-free, sprouted granolas baked with coconut nectar, organic cacao nibs, bee pollen, and house-made almond butter drizzles. Jamba's granola is noticeably sweet, functioning almost like broken oatmeal cookies scattered across the bowl. It delivers an enjoyable crunch, but its carbohydrate density pushes the bowl further away from athletic fuel and deeper into indulgence territory.
