Q1: Who originally voiced Vector in Despicable Me?
A1: Vector was voiced by actor and comedian Jason Segel. Segel brought extensive physical comedy and vocal improvisation to the recording booth, shaping the nasal pitch and erratic rhythm that made lines like "Oh yeah!" famous.
Q2: What is Vector's real name and background in the franchise lore?
A2: His birth name is Victor Perkins. He is the son of Mr. Perkins, the intimidating chairman of the Bank of Evil. Vector changed his name to reflect his self-described philosophy of "direction and magnitude."
Q3: What does the "You Just Got Vectored" meme actually mean?
A3: It functions as a bait-and-switch joke similar to a Rickroll. A video lures the viewer in with standard or dramatic content, only to abruptly interrupt the clip with Vector thrusting his hips while declaring victory, signaling that the viewer has been tricked.
