Recognizing that statutory reforms alone could not stem peer-to-peer malice, Tina Meier established the Megan Meier Foundation in December 2007. The non-profit organization departed from reactionary punitive models, focusing instead on proactive internet safety education, suicide prevention workshops, and youth mental health support.
Tina Meier became an internationally recognized speaker, delivering presentations to over 500,000 students, educators, and law enforcement professionals across North America. The foundation’s programming emphasizes that modern cyberbullying is rarely isolated to a single app. Instead, it functions as an omnipresent layer in an adolescent's life, following them into their private spaces long after the school day ends.
In August 2025, the organization reached a major operational milestone by opening a comprehensive community facility in St. Charles, Missouri. The center expanded the foundation’s footprint, providing free, specialized mental health counseling for youth targeted by online abuse, peer conflict mediation, and training programs for parents navigating mobile device safety. The center directly connects clinical intervention with digital literacy, ensuring families do not have to confront complex cyber-threats in isolation.
