If you scrape too aggressively and scrub the PIN into unreadable white plastic, do not throw the card away. The physical magnetic stripe and front barcode still carry the encoded 16-digit card number.
Take the damaged card directly to any corporate store. An in-store barista scan can read the magnetic stripe or scan the back code to verify the remaining funds on the spot. While they cannot generate a replacement PIN for you, they can swipe the damaged card at the register, charge your order against it, or transfer the entire balance onto a fresh, blank card pulled straight from the store's retail rack.
If you prefer handling the fix remotely, you will need a customer service balance check via phone or live chat. Agents will ask for the 16-digit card number, the approximate balance, and proof of purchase or activation. Providing a photograph of the damaged card back alongside the activation receipt expedites the manual transfer of funds into your digital wallet integration or a freshly issued eGift replacement.
