The managerial transition from Rob Kelly to John Coleman highlights a pragmatic shift inside Reading FC. Flamboyant promises no longer suit a club rebuilding its foundations after years of off-pitch turmoil. Survival, stability, and eventual promotion require staff members who know the lower divisions inside out and refuse to accept complacency.
As the team prepares for the upcoming League One schedule at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, the restructured backroom faces an immediate test. Coleman's task is clear: build upon the defensive organization Kelly left behind, raise squad accountability, and turn resilient home performances into consistent points across the country. For Reading supporters, genuine stability on the touchline may prove to be the most valuable signing of the entire summer.
